Fermentation can slightly alter the protein structure of food. It’s possible that your pet will not be allergic to feeding fermented protein pet food compared to non-fermented protein pet food. Our fermented pet foods are formulated to create a healthy gut for pets. It is easier for pets to digest the food by naturally breaking down nutrients. However, we recommend to sample and test to ensure your pet does not have a reaction. If served for 3-5 days without a reaction, it’s likely safe to feed.

Dogs and cats are often fed the same food for months or years, a sudden food change makes it difficult for their digestive systems to adapt. It’s important to introduce new food moderately as going slowly will give your dog or cat time to adjust to their new food and will also lower the possibility of getting an upset stomach.

Feeding guidelines are provided for each product’s diet at the back of the packaging, based on the age and weight of the pet. 

The feeding guide provides a suggested starting point for the amount to feed your pet each day but may need to be adjusted according to your pet’s individual needs, such as body condition scoring and current health status. 

For growing pets, it’s important to follow your veterinarian’s schedule of weigh-ins, particularly for large and giant breed dogs. Food intake may need to be adjusted frequently as their energy needs change during the growth phase.

At Joyess, we do not use any artificial colourings in the diet formulations. Therefore, there are natural variations in the raw ingredients which results in a variation in the kibble colour.

We do not suggest doing so. Due to prolonged exposure to air and oxidation, the pet food that has passed its best before date may not be fresh, hence, leading to reduced palatability and quality of food.
